One Pan Ham & Cheese Tortellini

If you’re craving a cozy, cheesy dinner without a sink full of dishes, this One Pan Ham & Cheese Tortellini is the answer. With tender tortellini, savory ham, and lots of melted cheese, this dish is pure comfort food made easy.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups diced ham
  • 1 (20-ounce) package cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 ¾ cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • ¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook, stirring often, until soft and fragrant.
  2. Stir in the diced ham and minced garlic. Cook for a few minutes until the ham is lightly browned.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth, heavy cream, and tortellini. Stir everything together and bring to a gentle boil.
  4. Reduce the heat and let it simmer uncovered for about 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tortellini is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  5. While it simmers, turn your oven broiler on and place the rack in the center position.
  6. Remove the skillet from heat and mix in half of the mozzarella cheese along with all of the Parmesan, stirring until melted and creamy.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top. Place the skillet under the broiler for 3–5 minutes, just until the cheese is bubbly and lightly golden. Keep a close eye on it so it doesn’t burn. 
    No broiler option: Simply cover the skillet and let it sit for 5–7 minutes until the cheese melts.
  8. Finish with fresh chopped parsley and serve right away.
